| Design
/ Overview
The
LAP/figure-8 Self-supporting sheath has the same constructions
as the LAP cable described above except that there
is the addition of A strand 7/1.32 or 7/1.57 or 7/2.03
mm, extra high strength galvanized steel is used as
the tensile bearing element instead of additional
strength member. A black High-Density Polyethylene
(HDPE) sheath connects the cable core to the steel
messenger wire via an integral web.
Applications

in aerial network

environments in which an additional moisture barrier
is desired
